It has been noted that many of the oil and chemical resistant hoses that are used by our clients have a tendency to be rigid or stiff and unwieldy.
This can cause the skimmer to be pulled into a lopsided position that can result in unsatisfactory performance.
To avoid this type of situation each of our skimmers comes with a set of rigid tubes and elbows that, when set up according to our instructions will keep the skimmer on an even keel and skimming the surface properly.

The standard tubing that comes with the 316SS finishes with a single barb fitting where it fits onto the hose. This can be changed over for a camlock fitting which would make connection and release of the unit easier. See below for pictures of both the barb fitting and the optional camlock easy Snap-On fitting

The Dragonfly 316.SS stainless steel floating and self adjusting and self adjusting oil skimmer

The Dragonfly 316.SS stainless steel Micro oil skimmer is a light weight and manualy or self adjusting floating weir oil skimmer. It is made entirely from marine grade/316 stainless steel, polypropylene. These materials have exelent resistance to hydrocarbons, a large variety of solvents,caustic materials as well as being resistant to high temperatures. The 316.SS has an independently  floating head at the surface of the water that adjusts automaticaly to variations in flow rates and rough surface conditions.
The draft of the Dragonfly 316.SS is 230mm its total height including tube conections is a mere 345mm.
Fittings reduce down from 32mm or 1 1/2" to 25mm or 1" this the standard conections are 25mm or 1" this hower can be changed to 32mm or 1 1/2 tubing upon request.
It has been noted that deu to the small size of this type of skimmer it is best to have suitable conections to what are often stiff hoses leading to the pump. To avoid this dificulty we include our specialy designed conection tubing. this can also be suplyed with an easy snap on camlock conection.
